I bought this two-disc Ravel collection for the chamber verison of "Tzigane" with violinist Christian Ferras and pianist Pierre Barbizet. These two have made some beautiful music together on Les Introuvables de Christian Ferras [Box Set] and Beethoven: Violin Sonatas; Cello Sonatas, and here we get more of the same. But that violin piece only makes up 10 minutes of a set that contains more than 2 1/2 hours of music. You get all sorts of chamber gems from the French composer in this set -- Sonatas, a Trio, the String Quartet, two pieces for Baritone, an amazing chamber account of the Introduction & Allegro for Harp (I'm used to a more orchestrated version), and "Ma Mere l'Oye" for piano four hands with the husband and wife duo of Eric & Tania Heidsieck. This set is currently fetching some outrageous prices used in the Marketplace, but if you can find one inexpensively like I did, it's well worth it.
