I've worn Brooks and recently Hoka's for the last 20 years because of Doctor recommendations for Plantar Fasciitis only to recently realize that they have contibuted to this issue. These Altra's were my first purchase of a "zero drop, wide toe" shoe. Quality seemed fine but decided to return because I am wanting an even wider toe box. I could feel my pinky toe pushed up against the inside of the shoe. Pictures show that my Hoka's toe box is even wider than the Altra's. Will be returning this shoe only for that reason, otherwise the shoe was comfortable and seemed durable.
