Due to my size, 6' 4" 270 lbs, I find most holsters annoying and any IWB holsters are just not practical. I have a drawer full of holsters that I have tried out for my Kimber CDP Pro 4" 1911. All of them have something wrong with them that makes me not want to wear them ever again. I have had the Galco Combat master for 6 months now and all I can say is that it is the most comfortable and practical of all. In the wintertime, I choose to wear at 3 o'clock carry position because i usually have some type of heavy over shirt or jacket that conceals very well. The holster is 4 1/2" long which initially concerned me that 1/2" would be sticking down past the barrel when it really did not need to. I have come to like the extra 1/2" because it protects the barrel, but even more than that, it prevents the barrel from contacting something while seated which could cause the gun to ride up out of its fully seated position, no more need to constantly check to see if the gun is about to fall out. This position also allows access to all 4 pants pockets. During the summertime in Texas, even the lightest jacket is just too much, so I have switched to a 6 o'clock carry position because the pistol butt is tucked in tight against the small of my back where a t-shirt or untucked short sleeve shirt covers extremely well, and again allowing access to all 4 pockets. the cant of the holster also places the gun within easy reach. When worn in this position, there is no trouble sitting in normal chairs, but it is a problem when driving. When I am driving, I just remove the gun from the holster and place it in my center console. The holster folds flat to the point where I cannot even feel it anymore against my back. Currently the holster shows no signs of loosing its shape, and in my opinion actually holds the gun more securely now than when it was brand new. I believe it is due to the action of the belt which bends the holster making it grip the gun very tightly but not so tight to make drawing an issue. I like the holster so much that I will order a couple more of the Combat Masters on the outside chance that Galco decides to change the design or discontinue. I recommend this holster if you are looking for a comfortable concealed carry and if your like me, this will be the last holster you ever buy.
