This is one of the prettiest perfumes made by Annick Goutal, purveyor or extraordinarily pretty perfumes. Unlike the big, Barbara Cartland-style roses of Ce Soir Ou Jamais or Rose Absolue, Rose Spendide is a light rose, decked in greenery (leaves, stems, and all). It dries down to a lovely but delicate trace of vanilla. Perfect for spring and summer (or cold months when you want to remember what spring and summer are like), this would also be discreet enough for a work scent. And Rose Spendide is delicate enough that it would make a terrific gift for a younger person. I wish we had AG perfumes when I was a budding perfumista!
