great smell just like original love itThe scent is like everything wonderful with a soft and earthy dark bite. I went to the Bvlgari store in Chicago after it was discontinued and they gave me a bunch of samples to try instead. NONE of them came close.Have been to a variety of other stores and just can’t find anything like it. This scent is distinctive and sophisticated and spicy (or rubbery?). I always get compliments on it. Even better, it is so much cheaper on Amazon than it was in Macy’s back when.Since it smells amazing to me, this is a really a great value for the money. The fragrance doesn’t stay strong too long. Only subtle notes left over after a long day. I’d say its longevity is average.Love this stuff so much and I think I’ve been wearing it for close to fifteen years. I hope they never run out. Like please seriously never run out - this is like all I wear.I first got mine from a Marshalls about 8 years ago. Since I read online that this was discontinuing (at least in stores) awhile back, I tried nursing it as long as possible. I finally decided to purchase another one, since I probably only had a couple more sprays left. Reading the negative reviews did discourage me, but I decided to take a chance. I just received mine and was a bit skeptical when I first opened it. Comparing to the one that I got 8 years ago, this one has a yellow tint whereas my old one is clear. Next was the scent test. I sprayed the new one on my wrist and the old one near my elbow. I noticed right away that my old one took longer for the alcohol to dissipate. The scent intensity was the same between the two, and the fragrance was pretty close, like 9.5 out of 10 close. To be fair, the discrepancy is probably because these were made years apart. Even with quality control, I think it would be pretty difficult to produce the exact same scent.Edit: I sprayed it about an hour ago, and it still smells really potent.I was worried about the scent after reading some of the reviews. I ordered this from Amazon, and when I received the cologne, I wasn't disappointed. It smells just like it's supposed to smell. I have purchased this cologne at Sephora, Target, and other places. I know what it's supposed to smell like. This bottle I bought from Amazon smells right.I'm also very satisfied with the mechanics of the spray bottle itself. I have purchased this same product from other vendors, and sometimes the spray doesn't come out quite as uniformly and in such a fine mist as this spray bottle does. This is my favorite cologne. I have received lots of compliments. I have had women asking what it is so that their husband can wear it too.My husband loves it, has been wearing it for years. Women close to him always remark how great it smells. My ex husband wore this upon a chance meeting.... he smelled so good , I had to ask what is that you’re wearing? But he always smelled good, he used to wear Jocomo. Don’t know if still available in the U.S.I blind bought this after watching different review videos and reading reviews here. I try to avoid citric fragrances, just a personal taste, and so I was using Acqua di Gio and Bvlgari for Men, but I wanted to try something different. I bought a replacement Bvlgari for Men, but decided to try this one out as well.First, the packaging is beautiful, so if you are planning on buying this as a present, I highly recommend. As for the fragrance itself, I'll have to repeat just about what everyone has already said: it does have a rubbery/leathery/smoky feel to it, but in a good way. It is a unique kind of smell, but one that has me going back to smelling my wrist a couple of times in the day when I decide to wear it. It also seems to be longer-lasting than my other fragrances.I'm pretty sure my skin chemistry is weird, because it doesn't smell anything like what every one else says. I'm getting a lot of musk and not much else - maybe a note or two of black tea and a tiny bit of rubber, but not nearly so much as it supposedly has. But I also don't think I got a fake, because it still lasts absolutely forever. It's still reasonably pleasant, but not really what I expected. But again I'm pretty sure that's my skin's fault so I'm not docking my stars too much over it. I'll just have to figure out when I can wear it, as I definitely can't wear it for the same occasions I expected to be able to.I've been wearing this for many years but it is no longer available in shops. Most of my bottles came from House of Fraser in Leamington Spa. The last couple of bottles I bought were online and the smell did not seem to last as long as it used to, nor be quite the same.Concerned I might by buying old stock that had gone off, or even a fake, I contracted Bulgari direct by e-mail.They replied very quickly and told me that they no longer manufacture it and are unable to vouch for any bottle I now buy being genuine. So my suspicion is that any bottles I buy from now on would be at best old stock which has not retained the scent.A great shame as there is nothing else like it. (Prove me wrong if you know of an alternative.)Bulgari - Why not start manufacture again? - there's clearly a market here.P.S. I keep a handful of bottles on my desk - they are great paper weights.I have smelt Bvlgari Jasmine Noir in the past and found it to be an enchanting fragrance, so I searched for most liked Bvlgari fragrances for men online and this one got a lot of love.Verdict: It smells good. Lasts long. So im happy. Particularly as you can buy it in shops apparently here in the UK so I dont expect anyone else to have my aroma. So 4 stars as its good, but not the best in my opinion. Im now going to look into the other Bvlgari recommendations and see if they will achieve 5 stars.Sadly discontinued, online sellers are the only place to buy this gorgeous scent. Genuine, fully packaged and well shipped these round "tyre" bottles in sturdy boxes are just the online ticket. Black is a nighttime frangrace, heady, smoky, a little spicy with natural woody bottom notes, exotic and sweet but without any girly florals. A fragrance that might waft by on a summer island holiday evening!I don't remember if I left a review before for this one. But my wife loves it which is why I keep buying it. Seller is always the same and cannot faulty them in any way.Have purchased a few times.Genuine lovely scent
